The Switch Wizard is a small microcontroller based electrical tester designed to determine which one of the three switch wires should be connected to the common terminal on a 3-way switch. On 4-way switches, to determine which two wires are a traveler pair. It was developed for the do it yourself homeowner to fill the need for a safe, fast and easy to use tester to unscramble mixed up 3-Way and 4-way switch wiring.

I got my Switch Wizard 3-way wiring tester on Friday and fixed three rooms with 4 way switches and one with a three way that weren’t working right. I was rehabbing an old house and replaced some switches but naturally no color coding! I had given up when I stumbled across the Switch Wizard. All I can say it works, it makes me wanna say Duh! I just wanted to tell you how happy I am with the Switch Wizard 3-way wiring tester I purchased recently. I had fooled around for hours with two 3-way set ups in which I was replacing the switches. This was an 85 year old house where there was no help from color coding and no easy way to determine how the circuits were wired.
The Switch wizard worked just as advertised. No fuss, right the first time. Too bad you don’t offer a Plumbing Wizard.

Everything Kanderson states on the website is correct. Trying to fogure out the wiring on my own I was ready to pull my hair out Literally within 15 minutes I ran through the Switch Wizard Instructions. I was able to correctly and easily identify the proper wires using the Switch Wizard. In my case a white wire was common on one switch and a black was the common on another switch. So long as yu can handle turning off the circuit breaker you can use the Switch Wizard, It’s like hitting “The Easy Button”. I am shocked the Switch wizard is not sold in home improvement stores nationwide.

Had to make you aware of how this tester worked for me. First I am not an electrician by any stretch of your imagination. The tester arrived in a few days. Rapid delivery. Went over the instructions a few times, then set to work. Working on 5 3-way switches in a gang box. House wired back in the 50’s. All wires black in color. Went to 5 different room. Took about 20 min. to correct all the switches. Everything works properly. Really made me look smart. Thank You, Great product.
